Professor Dr. Kamphol Adulavidhaya, the 11th Kasetsart University President

Professor Dr. Kamphol Adulavidhaya was the 11th President of Kasetsart University (June 8, 1992 – June 7, 1996). He was born on December 26, 1935 at Nakronsrithammaratch province, son of Mr. Yuanh and Mrs. Daeng Adulavidhaya. He studied the primary level at Thessaban 1 School and completed the secondary level year 6 from Benchamarachuthit School. After that, he moved to Bangkok, staying at Wat Pho, to continue his study. He went through the entrance exam to Triamudom Suksa School for secondary studying level year 7-8 and continue the study in higher education level at Kasetsart University, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry as originally intended to study the agriculture science. After going through a 5-year studying program, he graduated with second-class honor. He was granted the scholarship from The Agricultural Development Council, the United States, who provided supports to Kasetsart University in the development of the study, and research in Agricultural Economics, which was important to the agricultural development of the nation. Also, he was granted the master’s degree studying scholarship at the Oregon State University. After coming back to Thailand, he was the faculty member of the Department of Agricultural Economics, the Faculty of Economics and Cooperative Science for 4 years before receiving the scholarship from Purdue University, Indiana, the United States, for the doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics. He returned to Thailand and taught in the Department of Agricultural Economics before he was appointed the management position in Kasetsart University.
