Professor Dr. Prasert na Nagara, Kasetsart University 21st Chairman of the University Council

Professor Dr. Prasert na Nagara was the 21st Chairman of the Kasetsart University (August 30, 1986 – August 29, 1988). He was born on March 21, 1918 at Phrae province, the second child from eight siblings, son of Mr. Boonrueng and Mrs. Kim Laih na Nagara. He was married to Ms. Yaowalak Leelachat having a son Mr. Piyaporn na Nagara, and married to Ms. Somsong Hotrakitya having a daughter Mrs. Samurjai Boonwiwat (na Nagara). Education: Professor Dr. Prasert na Nagara completed the primary level from Nareerat School Phrae, completed the secondary level year 6 from Piriyalai School, and completed year 7-8 from Yupparaj Wittayalai School, Chiang Mai province. He repeated the year 8 at Suankularb Wittayalai School in order to have a right to get into the royal scholarship competition. He received a bachelor’s degree (Agricultural Engineering) from University of the Philippines at Los Banos with OCSC Scholarship, received a degree from Thammasat University (Thammasat Bundit), pursued his study of master’s and doctoral degree in statistics at Cornell University, the United State, and he went to Thailand National Defense College Batch no. 11.
