Assistant Professor Dr. Chongrak Prichananda, the 9th Kasetsart University President

Assistant Professor Dr. Chongrak Prichananda was the 9th President of Kasetsart University (June 8, 1982 – June 7, 1986). Assistant Professor Dr. Chongrak Prichananda, who lived his life with the good moral, was born on April 10, 1932 at Tha Pi Lieng sub-district, Muang district, Suphanburi province, son of Khun Wisesdharoonkij (Rueng) and Mrs. Thongjua Prichananda. As Assistant Professor Dr. Chongrak Prichananda followed his father who moved to many provinces according to the work appointment, he went to many schools during the primary and secondary levels as summarized as follows. From 1942 – 1945, he went to the School of Suratthani Province. When he was in first year of high school, he went to the School of Suphanburi Province from 1945 – 1947, and spent his last year in high school at Suankularb Wittayalai School from 1947 – 1979. He went to Forestry College from 1949 – 1952 and received a diploma in forestry. From 1955 -1957, he went to the College of Forestry University of the Philippines at Los Banos and completed a bachelor’s degree in forestry. From 1958 – 1960, he went to School of Forestry, Oregon State College and completed the master’s degree: Master of Science of Forest Product. From 1962 – 1966, with the Rockefeller Foundation scholarship, he went to State University of New York, College of Forestry, Syracuse University, USA and completed his doctoral degree: Wood Physics.
