Professor Rapee Sagarik, the 7th Kasetsart University President

Professor Rapee Sagarik was the 7th President of Kasetsart University (May 13, 1975 – September 16, 1979). He was born on December 4, 1922 at Worachakr sub-district, Pom Prab Satrupai district, Bangkok, the eldest son of Khun Police General Phra Mahathepkasatrsamuha (Nuaeng Sagarik) and Mrs. Sanit Pamornsut. His father was in the government service during the reign of King Rama IV, or King Mongkut. He was married to Ms. Kallaya Montriwat, daughter of Police Major General Khun Phichaimontri, the former Head of Free Thai Movement and Deputy Director of the Royal Thai Police Department, Crime Suppression Division. He has 3 sons and 1 daughter. Professor Rapee Sagarik intended to raise his son to grow up like a real man in an old-fashion way. He said … My father raised his son like no one else. Most of the parents who used to go through the difficulty did not want their children to face the same things. But He wanted me to learn the difficulty. He was the hard-hearted person and said I was the eldest son. If he raised me by himself, it made no good to me… For more information, please visit https://archives.lib.ku.ac.th/chan_page1.php?id=7
