The Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University
The Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University began its history from the School of Forestry, Department of Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, offering its first studying program at Phrae Province on May 1, 1936. In the early period of “The School of Forestry, Phrae Province” offered a 2-year program until 1939, it was renamed to the Forestry School and changed from a 2-year program to a 3- year program. Those who completed the program would receive the Diploma of forestry. However, it accepted the students who completed the program from Kasetsart College Preparatory School Mae Jo only. Until 1947, it accepted those who completed the general secondary school. The Forestry School was renamed to “Forestry College”. In 1943, when the Kasetsart University was founded, the Forestry College was changed to “The Faculty of Forestry” under Kasetsart University’s supervision. The first dean was Pol.Lt.Gen. Pheansarisda Yuthasilp Piriyayothin. Later, in 1956, the Faculty of Forestry at Phrae Province was moved to Kasetsart University, Bangkhen, offering undergraduate, master, and doctoral degrees.
