Mr. Sawasdi Mahaphol, Kasetsart University 16th Chairman of the University Council

Mr. Sawasdi Mahaphol was the 16th Chairman of the Kasetsart University Council (February 10, 1959 – August 26, 1959). He was born on April 23, 1911 at Sri Saket province. Education: Mr. Sawasdi Mahaphol completed the secondary level from Saint Gabriel's College, senior high school Assumption College, Bangrak. He went into the scholar competition and win the study scholarship at Forestry School, Pyinmana, Myanmar and received the diploma in advanced forestry and first aid certificate, being equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. Government Service: After graduation, he served in government service The Royal Forest Department, Ministry of Agriculture. In 1932, he was the Assistant to Head of a Customhouse, Pak Nam Pho, Nakornsawan province. In 1933, he was the officer of The Royal Forest Department, Sukhothai province and being the lecturer in Forestry College, Phrae province. He made a progress in his career when he was the officer of The Royal Forest Department, Lampang province (during 1943 – 1950), Bangkok (during 1950 – 1953), the Marshal of Northern region (1953). He resigned from the government service and worked for Forest Industry Organization in the position of Teak Department Manager, operated at Lampang province (during 1953 – 1959). When Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat was the Prime Minister, Mr. Sawasdi Mahaphol was appointed the Minister of Agriculture on February 10, 1959. He was retired from the position due to passing away on August 26, 1959, made him in the position Minister of Agriculture for 6 months and 16 days. During his position Minister of Agriculture and the 16th Chairman of the Kasetsart University Council during February 10, 1959 - August 26, 1959. Mr. Sawasdi Mahaphol was married to Mrs. Maneepan (Bhandhuwongse) Mahaphol.
