Mr. Vibul Dhammabutra, Kasetsart University 15th Chairman of the University Council

Mr. Vibul Dhammabutra was the 15th Chairman of the Kasetsart University Council (September 23, 1957 – October 20, 1958). He was born on June 27, 1898 at Muang sub-district, Muang district, Kamphaeng Phet Province, son of Mr. Thun and Mrs. Kong Dhammabutra. Education: In 1907, he studied in Bangkok by staying at his relatives’ house next to Wat Saket Ratchaworamahawiharn. He learned the first lesson of the English language with the supreme patriarch, Somdet Phra Yanothayamahathera from 1911-1914. He went to Debsirin School from 1918-1919, received the scholarship to study forestry science at Myanmar and received the diploma in advanced forestry and first-aid certificate in 1920-1921 Government Service: Mr. Vibul Dhammabutra was appointed the Deputy Vice Director General, The Royal Forest Department and made progress in his career. On May 1, 1952, he was appointed the Director of Forest Industry Organization until October 1, 1965 that he was graciously appointed the Ministry of Agriculture for 2 terms (1) September 23 – December 26, 1957 during the 27th cabinet of Thailand when Mr. Poj Sarasin was the Prime Minister (2) January 1 – October 20, 1958 during 28th cabinet of Thailand when Lieutenant general Thanom Kittikhajorn (the then title) was the Prime Minister. He was graciously given the Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand in 1964 while he was in the position of the Minister of Agriculture. Therefore, Mr. Vibul Dhammabutra was the 15th Chairman of the Kasetsart University Council by position. Mr. Vibul Dhammabutra was married to Mrs. Koomsri with 9 children. He died on July 2, 1966 at age 68 years, 5 days old.
