Kasetsart University Research and Development Institute at Kamphaeng Saen

Kasetsart University Research and Development Institute at Kamphaeng Saen was formerly under Kasetsart University Research and Development Institute at Bangkhen before upgrading to Kasetsart University Research and Development Institute at Kamphaeng Saen, with equivalent status to the faculty, on September 29, 2006. This demonstrated the development of the university in expanding its research coordination in the campus, the academic service, and the teaching and studying supports. The first Director was Dr. Rungnapa Korpraditsakul. There were a total of 7 divisions, including Central Laboratory and Greenhouse Complex, National Agricultural Machinery Center, Research and Development Center for Tropical Vegetables, Cane and Sugar Research and Development Center, Tropical Fruit Research and Development Center, Environmental Entomology Research and Development Center, and Post-Harvest Technology Center.Its mission was to coordinate on research work to initiate the collaboration of research and development between inside and outside the university, as well as providing academic services, laboratory analysis, experimental plot, and scientific equipment related to the various research fields. It was also a center for collecting and cultivating plants, microorganisms, insect species, implementing under the largest insect dome in Southeast Asia. It was also the tropical seed bank, the museum of rare and endangered insects.
