Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen
Faculty of Agriculture was established in 1943, according to Kasetsart University Act, it was called the “Faculty of Kasetsart” located at Bangkhen Campus, Bangkok. In 1954, the “Faculty of Kasetsart” was renamed to the “Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry”. In 1966, the “Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry” was renamed to the “Faculty of Agriculture” according to the Royal Decree prescribing the organizing of the faculty, and used this name until the present. The university had the policy to expand the educational opportunity for the western and central region, which was the important agricultural production areas of the country. Then, the Kamphaeng Saen was initiated and the Faculty of Agriculture located at Kamphaeng Saen Campus was responsible for teaching, studying, research, academic service, and cultural preservation, via the agricultural learning resource center that occurred under the cooperation between the community and the faculty. To ensure the operation of the Faculty of Agriculture on both campuses was in the decent collaboration and being efficient, The University Council gave an approval to upgrade the Faculty of Agriculture located at Kamphaeng Saen Campus to be equivalent to the faculty and changed to “Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen”, comprised of an office and 8 departments, since March 18, 2003. Associate Professor Dr. Sombat Chinnawongse was the first Dean from June 17, 2003 – June 16, 2007.
