Traffic Lane Opening Ceremony "Along Bangkhen Canal Road"
On March 24, 2016 Mom Rajawongse Sukhumbhand Paribatra, the Governor of Bangkok presided over the opening ceremony of the traffic lanes along Bangkhen Canel Road (temporary) connecting Vibhavadi Rangsit Road with Phaholyothin Road. Associate Professor Dr. Viroch Impithuksa, Chairman of the Kasetsart University Council; Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, the Acting President of Kasetsart University, administrators and students joined to congratulate the success of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) on accelerating the construction of the road along the Bangkhen canal until it was completed. The new road along the Bang Khen Canal would connect Vibhavadi Rangsit Road with that Phaholyothin Road.BMA started the construction, the beginning point was on the Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, ending on Phaholyothin Road Soi 49/1. It is a 2-lane asphalt road, dividing 1 lane per direction, with a length approximately 2,000 meters. Kasetsart University, Kaset Klang Bang Khen Community, and surrounding communities have been involved in the construction management of the road along Bangkhen canal since the beginning (1999) in order to solve the traffic problems inside and around the university, which was enclosed by the main road with the traffic congestion on all three roads, namely, Ngamwongwan Road, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, and Phaholyothin Road. Also, it was to reduce the effect of the construction of the electric train, Green line from Mor Chit - Sapan Mai – Kukod. The university had taken the initiative and proposed to the related organization to consider expediting the construction of a temporary road in the construction of the road along the Bangkhen canal to connect Vibhavadi Rangsit Road with Phaholyothin Road for more than 15 years.
