General Bhaophianlert Boribhanyutthakij, Kasetsart University 11th Chairman of the University Council

General Bhaophianlert Boribhanyutthakij, formerly known as Bhao Phianlert, was the 11th Chairman of the Kasetsart University Council (November 29, 1951 – December 5, 1951). He was born on November 11, 1893 at Wat Amarindharam, Bangkok Noi, Thonburi province. He was the second child of Mr. Phetch and Mrs. Som Jean Phianlert. There were 11 siblings. He studies elementary level at Wat Amarindharam School, the secondary level at Suankularb Wittayalai School and continued studying at the Royal Military Academy in 1906. In 1909, he studies aboard in German. However, due to World War I, he had to move to study and served as government service in Switzerland and France, respectively before returning to Thailand in 1921. He was bestowed with the noble title Phra Boribhanyutthakij in 1929 and appointed quartermaster in 1934. In 1935, he also hold the Minister of Commerce (Setthakarn). As politics changed, he was in and off the position of the Minister of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, and other positions related to national finance and commerce. He was bestowed with the higher military rank to General in 1951. On November 29, 1951, A coup occurred. The revolutionary committee announced the temporary administration of the country. General Bhaophianlert Boribhanyutthakij was appointed the Minister of Agriculture in the revolutionary committee (November 29 – December 5, 1951). Therefore, he was the Kasetsart University Chairman of the University Council by position. In 1941, he changed his last name as his noble title, Boribhanyutthakij. General Bhaophianlert Boribhanyutthakij was married to Khun Ying Magerit Boribhanyutthakij (Ms. Magerit Dwont), had sons and adopted child which were Flight Lieutenant Krajang Boribhanyutthakij (Dead) and Mr. Angkul Boribhanyutthakij, and Ms. Walaiwan Dhithiranon (adopted child). General Bhaophianlert Boribhanyutthakij died on April 3, 1970 at age 76 years, 4 months, 24 days old.
