Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha
Faculty of Engineering at SrirachaThe aims of the faculty were to extend the higher education for supporting the development of Eastern coast area economics. It focused on produce the graduates and manpower in Engineering and research study and academic services to industrial development, to enhance the national technology to higher level. The previous name was “faculty of Industrial Technology”. It was approved to be put in the Higher Education Development Plan volume 7 as the “Community College”. In 1996, the subcommittee considered having an additional organization in the higher education level and agreed to upgrade to Sriracha Campus. Later, the resolution from the Kasetsart University Council Meeting 3rd/ B.E.2542 (1999) on March 15, 1999 was to upgrade the “Sriracha Campus Establishment Project” to be the “Sriracha Campus”, where the Faculty of Industrial Technology was equivalent to the faculty. In 1997, the first batch of the student in 2 study program was offered, namely, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, and opened 1 more study program, Computer Engineering in 1998. There were 2 additional studying fields in 2000, including Mechanical Engineering, and Shipbuilding and Ship Engineering. In 2000, the Kasetsart University Council meeting 11th / B.E. 2543 (2000) on November 20, 2000, gave the approval to rename from the Faculty of Industrial Technology to the “Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha”, announced on November 28, 2000.In 2006, the Shipbuilding and Ship Engineering studying field was transferred to be under the International Maritime Studies College. In 2006, the Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha was accepting the first batch in the Bachelor of Engineering Program (Mechanical Engineering), Department of Mechanical and Production System (Special Program). In 2009, the Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha offered the Master’s Degree in Engineering Program in Engineering Management (Special Program). In 2011, upon the resolution from the Kasetsart University Council Meeting 11th / B.E. 2553 (2010) on November 22, 2010, the Faculty of Engineering at Sriracha offered the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Electrical Engineering.
